Live by the Sword, Die by the Sword
The AP reports that the Israeli government has concluded that an explosion on a Palestinian beach that killed eight civilians was not caused by an Israeli shell. The Israelis blame a mine hidden on the beach by the Palestinians. Palestinians reject Israel’s findings and Hamas called off a 16-month truce with Israel after the explosion.
Israel admits that it had been firing shells into that area on Friday. The AP says in the report,
Israel has been pounding northern Gaza with hundreds of artillery shells for weeks, trying unsuccessfully to stop Palestinian militants from setting up and launching homemade rockets at Israel.
Wait a minute. I thought Hamas and the Palestinians had a truce with Israel. Why would they be firing rockets into Israel? Let’s look back into the article to see if we can find more information on this.
The blast occurred on the outskirts of the town of Beit Lahiya, at the edge of the area where Palestinian militants frequently fire rockets toward Israel.
So, there never really was a truce. Even while Israel is working for peace, the Palestinians continue their terrorist ways.
This may sound a little harsh, but considering the fact that the Palestinian people elected terrorists to represent them in their government, and since the Palestinian government has done next to nothing to stop militants from killing Israeli civilians, then the Palestinians shouldn’t complain so much about civilian casualties on their side. Perhaps it is true that the explosion was caused by a wayward Israeli shell, but this is the kind of thing that happens when you take up the sword (or suicide vest).
The Palestinian people are not innocent bystanders in all of this. Both major parties in Palestinian politics are either connected to terrorists, or are terrorists themselves. The only difference between Fatah’s Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade and Hamas is that Hamas has a slightly itchier trigger finger. All of them enjoy a great deal of support from the Palestinian people. Don’t be fooled. The leaders of these parties are not statesmen. They are terrorists who seek to destroy Israel by killing as many innocent Israelis as possible. The Palestinian people have supported them in that endeavor. Until the Palestinian people stand up and refuse to allow murders to take place in their name, they cannot be considered mere civilians. Iraqis have stood up against the terrorists in their midst, Palestinians should do the same.
