The Master and American Utopianism

We don’t have the transcript to back this up, but last night on Fox News’ Special Report the Master, Charles Krauthammer, said that Europeans were wrong to dismiss President Bush’s ideas on Freedom as mere “American Utopianism.” Of course, the Master is right. The Europeans do not believe Bush when he says that Freedom can exist in every corner of the globe and that the quality of our security is directly related to the strength of Freedom and Democracy around the world. But there is no race on this earth that is incapable of self government. Perhaps our European allies have not let go of their colonialist ideas.

Because of this, the Texas Heritage Party is proud to announce the creation of the International Center for American Utopianism. This will be a branch of the Texian Party dedicated to the advance of Freedom and Democracy throughout the world, and achieving greater American security through that advancement. We believe that the light of Freedom shines from America, and it is America’s duty to tear down every wall constructed by tyrants to hide that light from the people of the world. This is not pie in the sky idealism. This is a sacred and honorable command.

Currently on our watch list:

Russia – With the fall of the Soviet Union, many people in the West believed that Russia will enter into a new era of Freedom. However, under Putin, the Russian government has only become more and more centralized. Putin is reserving more power for himself. This trend must be stopped and reversed, or Russia will fall back into Authoritarianism.

China – While allowing its citizens more economic freedoms, the Chinese government continues to violate human rights and deny political freedoms.

Saudi Arabia – Saudi Arabia continues to be the birthplace of radical Islamic terrorism. This is because the Saudi monarchy continues to deny basic freedoms such as speech, religion, and assembly. This denial is the root cause of terrorism. Some would say that poverty is also a root cause. However, if the people of a nation take hold of their God-given Freedom, they will begin to use that Freedom to improve their economic situation. Freedom is essential to every aspect of human happiness.

Iran – We believe that the Iranian government’s denial of rights and freedoms will not last much longer. The Iranian people will look to newly-freed Iraq and demand the same freedom in their country. The United States should, with every tool available to us, encourage and support the Iranian people in their quest for freedom.

The State of Washington – In the recent election, the people of the State of Washington saw their election stolen from them. This is a great tragedy and must be rectified. It is our hope that the contest of the election will be successful and the people of the State of Washington will get a fair chance to have their voices heard.
